"tilly is in the swamp" an anonymous submission, the swamp idea really rolled with me and i kind of formed it more to a bayou theme, its a thinner copper plate etching, but the size is large, i cant remember the exact dimensions but its about the size of a placemat if that means anything
with my second print out, my third print is in the works and i still leave my box open for suggestions on tilly and his wherabouts. (my next print is a solar plate print so its going to be very small)
quick reminder i dont know if i even said it but tilly is a boy
Hello tumblr I have a project this semester in printmaking that requires an audience participation for it to work
The theme I have this year is that Tilly, the black cat featured in the front of this train room, is a young kitten who is lost. I have a suggestion box set up on campus at my school already but I would like to leave this open for people online to try
The idea is to get suggestions on where Tilly may be. The suggestion can be as open as just one word (forest, underground, space, etc) or it can be a very plain idea like in the backyard, or it can even be something completely out of this world like Tilly being in the horse head nebula fighting gordon ramsay androids
Once the time comes around for me to make my next print, I will look at all the suggestions, draw several of them, and use one or even a few to create my next print.
On the suggestion itself you are free to submit anonymously, or you can give anything from your name, grade, major in school, location, anything you’d be okay with saying.
I do want to stress that this isn’t in the idea that I am stealing an idea of someone, what I plan to do with the ideas that catch my eye I will create a whole scenario based on that environment/place you have suggested.
On this tumblr page I will post the sketches and final prints. This first print itself is a 9 x 6” copper plate etch, as will the next print be. (however I do hope to get into some woodblocks and lithographs later on)
Prints come out about every two weeks or so. I appreciate anyones suggestions and help on this project! You are free to give as many suggestions as you’d like, and again I do appreciate any help for this project
